Apparently Tsunku announced last week that he will be reviving Minimoni, complete with...none of the original members.

Instead, the new Minimoni will be led by Linlin (one of the Chinese "exchange" singers in Morning Musume), and the other three members are rumored to be Eggs, with Fukuda Kanon confirmed to be among them. There's no word yet on if they'll be like the Minimoni of their formation time (actual kiddy music) or the Minimoni that was forced to grow up (reference "Crazy in Love" and everything after, excepting "Lucky Cha Cha Cha") and make bad music.

It's clear which one I liked more. :D

I don't know how I feel about this, but I'm sure I'll be downloading their first single out of curiosity.

Despite the fact that this is H!P we are talking about, I just do not think one can replace minimoni. It is kiddy-pop blasphemy!
...But I suppose nothing is too sacred for Tsunku to fuck up.

I think it's for the best that none of the original members are involved - and I mean Takahashi, of course, since she's the only one left. Leaving Ai out is very telling, in my opinion. It was after her addition that the whole sound and style changed, and changed to something that I can't imagine Tsunku dusting off the Mini Moni name for after this long. Linlin and Kanon also have very energetic, crazy, childlike, etc. personalities so I'd bet it's pretty likely he's going the kiddy route. Besides, with Kirarin Revolution ending, he's left with an obvious gap to fill.

I don't know. I'm optimistic, but I was never a Mini Moni fan anyway and getting introduced to H!P through Morning Musume means I got any sort of "but this isn't the REAL lineup" sentimentality stomped out of me a long time ago. It will never be what it was, but I don't consider that a bad thing. It's Hello! Project after all. Graduations, auditions, new lineups - they're par for the course and we still have the old videos to go back to. Nothing changes there.

WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT

Rejected. Completely and totally rejected. I hate this idea. I agree with Natsucha up there. Refusal.

Just my two cents.
